KPV.

KPV is three residues, lysine, proline and valine, and it is not an invention. It is the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, a 13-residue peptide, isolated as a tripeptide in its own right. The letters are simply the one-letter codes of its amino acids.

Small enough to be fully described by its sequence, it is supplied as 10 mg of freeze-dried powder in a sealed vial.
